About Barbara

The company Barbara Reisch Accessories was founded in Vienna in 2000. The designer completed her training at the fashion school in Hetzendorf Palace/Department of Fashion and Leather Goods, the Higher Federal Teaching and Research Institute for Textile Industry – Department of Textile Design, and at the Parsons School of Design in New York.

Her interest in art and design has been with her since early childhood. Her grandfather established a local history museum in Sopron and Bad Wimpfen. Her mother spent a great deal of time in museums and auction houses, always accompanied by her daughter in her stroller. Over the years, this fostered a keen sense of aesthetics, proportion, and color. "Just as other children spent time in the playground, we went from auction houses to markets and art dealers. The world of historical objects in castles and museums fascinated me." After completing her training, she worked in her mother's art and antiques business, while simultaneously working on her first collection of bags and jewelry.

Inspired by Bakelite, the first industrially produced plastic of the 1920s and 30s, which she had come to love during her time in New York, she began designing her first collection. Initially, the jewelry was intended as a decorative complement to her handbag collection, but success came so quickly that she devoted herself entirely to jewelry from then on. She moved to a larger studio, restructured her workshop, and began to establish herself as a wholesaler on the international market. Today, this Viennese woman lives with her family in the countryside. Her motto is "You grow with the challenge." Her customers are scattered around the world and carry her colorful optimism out into the world with every piece of jewelry!

Our jewelry is crafted with meticulous attention to detail in my own studio in the heart of Vienna, based on my designs. We are known worldwide for our impeccable quality and constantly strive to meet our own high standards.
